Hello everyone !
I'm Kobayashi Hiromi, a certified japanese language teacher for beginners!
Do you have an interest in Japan and japanese culture? Perhaps you like watching anime and wondering if what the characters are saying is what you read in the subtitle? Watching with subtitles sometimes interfere with the anime itself as you have to move your eye down to read the subtitles instead of watching the character's reaction to something.
Or perhaps you like other aspects of japan's rich culture, such as its food, history, beautiful places to visit and the uniqueness of its people? In that case, learning japanese, or nihongo, is surely the start and gateway to your interest and appreciation!
Let me introduce myself! I'm from shinjuku tokyo, and grew up and studied there. Believe it or not, I major in political science but have always followed my heart in choosing the teaching profession as a career instead. During my university program I had an opportunity to study in Australia, and it helped me open my eyes to other cultures and make new friends along the way. Since young I have always wanted to go abroad to work, and as a result, I have been to a few countries on working tours.
As fate would have it, I met my husband in one of those countries and now am residing there, teaching japanese! If you are interested in learning japanese from the beginner level, please consider me as your teacher! Feel free to have an initial class with me, where we can just find out more about each other!
Speaking about different difficulty levels of japanese, of course we have working level, high school level and such, however, most people studying a new language would want to reach a level where they can make themselves understood by Japanese, not necessarily fluent. Remember, the goal of language study is to be able to communicate to the other person what you want to say, and once you achieve it, that's a great first goal! So dont' be intimidated or admit defeat yet! we are going for understanding japanese. Hope to see you soon!
