Intro | 自己紹介
 
Hello everyone, I'm Jake! I was born in the Philippines, but I moved to the UK when I was young. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher. I have been teaching English for 3 years. I have taught in San Sebastián (Spain), Tokyo, and I have also taught online. I am currently living in Manchester, UK.
 
Academic Background | 学歴
 
In addition to my background as an English teacher, I also studied BA Spanish and Japanese at the University of Manchester, and I have a PGDip in Computational Linguistics from the University of Wolverhampton. I also studied Japanese at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies （東京外国語大学）for a year as an exchange student.
 
Teaching Style | 教え方（ティーチングスタイル）
 
As someone who loves learning foreign languages, I understand that it can be difficult to find the right person to practise with. I can be that person for you! During our lessons, we will focus on speaking as much as possible, unless otherwise requested, of course. 
 
My lessons have a calm and friendly atmosphere, but I make sure that the students always feel like they are learning something. I want to get to know you and help you with your language learning goals.

Hobbies | 趣味
 
My passions include learning foreign languages and programming! I always do something related to those two things every day. I have also been interested in web design lately. I also like playing my guitar and ukulele. I like going on walks and I have been meaning to improve my snowboarding.
 
I also love travelling! I have travelled to the Netherlands, France, Iceland, Belgium, Austria, Australia. I have also lived in the Philippines, the UK, Spain, Japan and Canada. I enjoy getting to know different cultures and I love trying new things.
