Hello, servus, and xin chào!
About me
I'm Astrid, a native German speaker from Vienna, Austria, and currently living in Vietnam.
A few years ago, my partner and I packed our lives into an old 4x4 and set off on an overland journey from Europe to Asia. What was meant to be a long adventure eventually led me to Vietnam, which I now happily call home.
Before that, I spent many years working in international development cooperation. These days, I divide my time between teaching languages and running a cat welfare organization in Vietnam.
My Teaching Experience
I love meeting people from different countries and backgrounds, which is probably one of the reasons I enjoy teaching so much. Over the years, I've taught German and English to children, teenagers, and adults, both online and in the classroom. Most recently, I prepared a student for her IGCSE German exam.
What can you expect as my student?
I believe that language learning should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. Mistakes are welcome, questions are encouraged, and there is no pressure to be perfect.
My lessons are friendly, relaxed, and centred around real communication. Some students want to prepare for exams, others are planning a trip to a German-speaking country, and many simply want to become more confident speakers. Whatever your reason for learning German, I'm happy to support you along the way.
Hope to see you soon!
You are welcome to book a trial lesson so we can get to know each other and figure out together what works best for you and your learning goals.
