안녕하세요 (Annyeong haseyo) Hello, everyone!
My name is Rina, and I teach Korean and Japanese.
I studied abroad in Nagoya, Japan for 9 years, and worked for a job related to Japan even after returning to South Korea. I have been living in Singapore for 3 years now. I have been interested in living abroad since I was in high school, and had a strong desire to “speak a second language!“. Language is a priceless tool to connect with anyone in the world!
In the past, I have interacted with a variety of Japanese people at both university and work, and learned Japanese that I can put into practice in Japanese culture and daily life. Feeling the differences between Japanese and Korean cultures firsthand, and discovering the similarities between the Japanese and Korean languages has been one of the interesting aspects of learning the language.
Now that I am living in Singapore, I am working hard to learn English. As I hit upon the language barrier of English, I remembered how I felt when I first started learning Japanese: “No matter how many words and grammar I learn, they don’t come out of my mouth…” “I want to speak Japanese in a way that I can put it into practice in my daily life…”
And so on, I had many worries.
That is why!
I’m not a certified language tutor, but based on my experience, I’d like to help you improve your language skills by talking casually with me as if you were talking to a friend. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and let’s practice speaking out loud♪
Any topic is welcome. Please feel free to discuss any topic you would like to talk about. With the coronavirus making international travel difficult, I look forward to meeting you online!
