Hello everyone! My name is Hiram! I am 27 years old and I'm an American who currently lives in Sapporo, Japan. Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile!
About me...
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Hawaii where I grew up working on an Orchid farm. I enjoy gaming, technology, exercising, watching movies, trying out new restaurants, and so much more! I am interested in chatting with you about anything you want!
During my free time at University, I worked backstage at a theater and performed as Secretary for our university's Drama Club. I have performed both on stage and in student films. I love to talk about art and share opinions with others!
My wife and I decided to move to Japan so that she could accept a job offer, here, in Sapporo. I'm using this opportunity to study the Japanese language and share my native knowledge of American English with anyone who wants to learn!
What can you expect in my lessons?
My lessons are mainly conversational and I plan to explore different ways to help students to practice. I believe that the true joys of language come when we can effectively express ourselves and our thoughts. Because of this, many of my lessons are based on encouraging students to practice describing opinions and different forms of media. We can take things slow with low-stakes conversation or we can get as in-depth as you want!
My formal education is in Computer Science and programming. I am somewhat new to teaching English, but I am extremely willing to respond to feedback and to take suggestions from students.
