Hi there, thanks for checking out my profile! My name's Jeff and I love teaching. For the past seven years I've been working in the US as a high school English teacher, and during that time I have also travelled to Japan to earn my TESOL Certification. I know learning a new language can be frustrating, so I try to make my students feel like my lessons are a safe place to make mistakes and grow in the process. My ultimate goal is to show my students how enjoyable learning a new language can actually be!

My approach to teaching:
I believe that English lessons should be relaxing and create a low pressure atmosphere for the student. My job is simply to find out what your goals are and help you achieve those goals in an enjoyable way. Cafetalk is designed to be a place where you can learn new things from friendly people, and that is exactly the experience I create for my students.
My Experiences in Japan:
During the summers of 2017, 2018, and 2019, I had the good fortune of visiting Japan and living in Katsushika, Tokyo. While in Japan, I have earned my TESOL certification, served as a summer camp counselor, and volunteered as an English Language Instructor. I’ve also handled the editing of college level assignments written by Japanese students. In my free time, I love exploring the greater Tokyo area and experiencing the rich culture it has to offer. Japan is a truly wonderful place, and I hope that I am able to one day call it my home.
