Hello everyone, my name is Alex.

About Me:

I am an American and was born and raised in California, USA. I came to Japan in May 2011 to teach English. My hobbies are reading books, cooking and playing and watching sports. I also love traveling and have traveled all over the world. My passion in life is teaching English and helping people achieve their goals. 
                          My Teaching Background:

I have been teaching English in Japan since May 2011. I have experience teaching students of all ages, all English levels, and for all types of English goals. I have a multiple TESOL certifications and I am certified to teach reading and writing to children through a popular phonics program.

For adult learners, I work with professionals who want to improve their English for work, and for causal learners who want to improve their English for travel and who study English as a hobby.

I have a lot of experience working with children as well, from 2 years old and up. I really enjoy teaching kids to read and write in English, as well as helping them to learn how to communicate well.

Lastly, I often train teachers and parents on how to teach reading and writing in English using a popular curriculum from the UK.

I love teaching and providing students with the best opportunities to learn.   My Lessons:

I know that all students learn differently and I tailor my lesson plan and teaching style to meet your needs. In our first introductory lesson, I will learn about why you are studying English, what your goals are, when and how you like to be corrected, and if there is anything in particular you are looking for from your teacher. You can also send me a message requests when setting up your lesson.

Learners of all levels are welcome to take lessons with me. I can help with daily conversation, grammar and vocabulary learning, phonics, proof-reading, essay writing, survival travel English, American pronunciation, and TOEIC or EIKEN test preparation. I can work in a textbook you have, recommend a new textbook for you, or use no textbook. I also have original worksheets to help with your learning.
