Hello, my name is Lucia, I'm a 27-year-old-Italian girl who's truly passionate about teaching!
I was born in a small village surrounded by woods and mountains in Piedmont, a region in Northwest Italy, but I've been living abroad for quite a long time.
In my spare time, I like reading, walking my dog, playing cards with my grandparents, watching series and cooking desserts.
I've always wanted to become a teacher, since I was a little kid actually: in my room, I'd sit all my dolls down on the floor and I'd start writing on the blackboard with my coloured chalks!
Fortunately nowadays my students are actual breathing people, with whom I can have a dialogue and receive feedback.
I've been an English and Italian tutor on and off for about 5 years, I've taught people from 15 to 70 years old, in private or group lessons.
I have my "TESOL" (teaching English to speakers of other languages) and, as far as the Italian language is concerned, I don't have any certification, but it's my native language and, if you were to ask my students, they'd tell you I'm a perfectionist and a "grammar nazi", so I feel definitely capable of teaching this beautiful language in a clear and interesting manner.
As a teacher, I adapt my teaching strategies to respond to the strengths and needs of the students.
I always try to get better, by asking fellow teachers and most of all my students for advice.
To me, the biggest reward is noticing my students' progress and their satisfaction.
I can be fun and easy-going during my lessons, but also serious and professional when needed.
