■ About Me

Hello, my name is Edna, and I am an online language teacher from Taiwan.

I have over five years of teaching experience and am familiar with both online teaching platforms and private language institutions. I mainly teach children’s English, beginner English, and Chinese for foreign learners.


■ Background and Experience

I have lived in Japan for one year and participated in language exchange-related activities, supporting communication among learners from different countries.

This experience helped me deeply understand the challenges of language learning, such as:

how to start speaking, how to understand cultural differences, and how to overcome the fear of expressing oneself.

In addition, I lived in Canada during my early childhood, where I was exposed to a multicultural and English-speaking environment from a young age. This has given me a strong understanding of language learning and cross-cultural communication, and allows me to better support learners from different backgrounds.

In my Chinese teaching, I can also provide explanations in both English and Japanese to help students understand more effectively. My teaching focuses not only on knowledge acquisition, but also on real-life application and practical communication skills.

I use interactive, game-based, and situational teaching methods to help children speak naturally, build confidence, and enjoy learning in a relaxed environment.

Have you studied many vocabulary words and grammar rules but still struggle to speak English in real life?

I design practical, real-life conversation practice to help students turn passive knowledge into active speaking ability and improve real communication skills.


3. Chinese Learners (Foreign Students)

Do you find Chinese pronunciation difficult, sentence structures confusing, or struggle to express yourself naturally?

I provide systematic Chinese lessons from pronunciation (pinyin), basic grammar, to daily conversation, helping students build a solid foundation step by step and apply it in real life.

At the same time, I also introduce commonly used native expressions and vocabulary, so students can not only learn correct Chinese but also speak more naturally and authentically in real situations.


4. Japanese-Speaking Learners

Do you struggle with language learning due to differences between languages?

Since I am also proficient in Japanese, I can explain concepts using Chinese, English, and Japanese comparisons, helping students understand more efficiently and reduce learning frustration.

My interests include traveling, visiting exhibitions, and exploring cafés.

I began studying Japanese in 2023. Experiencing language learning from a learner’s perspective has helped me better understand the difficulties students face, such as pronunciation, memorization, and speaking confidence. It has also strengthened my belief in making language learning more effective and natural.

In addition, I love traveling. I spent about one month living in Europe in 2024, and also lived in Osaka, Japan from 2024 to 2025. These experiences allowed me to immerse myself in different cultures and ways of life, and further strengthened my cross-cultural communication skills.

In my daily life, I also enjoy visiting exhibitions and experiencing art and culture, which inspire me and allow me to bring fresh perspectives into my teaching, making lessons more connected to the real world.
