Hello! My name is Patricia Ayame Thomson but you can call me Lady Ayame.

[Introduction:] ~ I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan until I was 18 yrs old. While in Japan, I was a campaign model for Shiseido Cosmetics, Soen Magazine, Washington Shoes, and many others for five years as a teenager.

I attended an American School on Yokota US Air Force base and received my education in English. At the same time, I lived in the Japanese community, so I am fluent in both English and Japanese. If you feel more comfortable with a tutor who can speak both English and Japanese, please take a look at my lessons! Due to the fact that I am bilingual, I can immediately answer any question in either language.

(FYI: I am playing the role of "Sachiko" in the Introduction Video above. It's from an American TV show called "Dear John" starring Judd Hirsch.)



I moved to the United States after I graduated from high school to attend college. I went the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Theatre Arts. Since graduating, I have been an actress in Hollywood for a long time. Some of my well-known credits are appearances on "Seinfeld," "Designing Women," "Wings," "Friends," etc. Faced with competition from around the world, I worked hard and established over 50 TV credits.

More recently, I experienced a career change. I went through the online program and received a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the San Jose State University (SJSU). For the past eight years, I've worked at the Santa Monica Main Public Library helping adults and children further their knowledge and encourage lifelong learning. I formed a close bond with both the patrons and fellow employees, and I enjoyed teaching them to access information in many electronic and print formats. I believe I can make learning fun and I will be happy to converse with you about any topic of your interest.

My lesson plans are casual, easy-to-do, and requires reasoning skills. I am a very easy-going and patient, although I take my work seriously.

I am flexible and will accommodate the type of structured instruction you prefer or just converse freely if you like.

Personally, I like to make my own jewelry and knit. I work out regularly at the gym, I like to watch movies, and go out to explore restaurants. I have two precious cats named Coco and Chanel. Although I recently moved from Santa Monica, California to Canada I like the change of scenery very much!
