About Me

Hi! I'm Jason, an Australian living and working in Tokyo for around 15 years.

I work professionally in photography, technology and drone operations, and I've had the opportunity to work with people from many different countries and backgrounds.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, surfing, snowboarding and travelling. I enjoy meeting new people and, most of all, having a good conversation.

I'm offering relaxed English conversation practice for people who want to become more comfortable speaking English naturally. My sessions are friendly, casual and focused on actually talking — rather than studying from a textbook.

My Conversation Style

I want you to speak as much as possible and feel comfortable making mistakes.

We can talk about whatever interests you — hobbies, travel, work, food, Japan, Australia, sports, technology, drones or everyday life.

I can gently correct mistakes when needed and explain more natural ways to say things. If you're stuck, I can also use some Japanese to help explain what you're trying to say before you try it again in English.

Role-playing can also be useful, especially for practising real-life situations such as:

  • Travelling
  • Ordering at a restaurant
  • Meeting new people
  • Everyday conversations
  • Workplace situations

Who Are My Sessions For?

My main focus is adults and mature learners who already have some English ability but want more confidence speaking.

You don't need to have perfect English. The important thing is to start speaking, relax and enjoy the conversation.

Why Conversation Practice?

Sometimes the hardest part of learning English isn't understanding it — it's actually opening your mouth and speaking.

My goal is to give you a comfortable place to practise, make mistakes and gradually become more confident using English in real-life situations.
