Hey - my name is Lina.
I am a Bulgarian-born, American-educated, Australian citizen currently working between the US and Mexico.
ellHeAs a student and teacher of various languages, I know how difficult it can be to learn a second language and its multiple dialects and/or colloquialisms. I am here to help! No matter how different or similar your maternal language is to the one I am tutoring you in, I am certain we'll find a way to improve your ability and your confidence. If you're interested in English, Spanish or Bulgarian classes, I am the tutor for you.
While I am always available for conversational practice with new students, I am most interested in working closely to build curriculums suited to their needs.
My goals as a teacher:
- helping students understand a “typical” Northeastern American accent
- help illustrate some of the differences between the Spanish spoken in Mexico and Spain
- working on students’ own pronunciation - focusing on words/phrases/phonetic sounds they find difficult to pronounce
- refining students’ grammar
- practice casual usage of important expressions and idioms
- conversations oriented towards building students’ vocabulary in a specific field (news, business, academia, colloquial, etc.)
