Hello! Nice to meet you. My name is Jess. I'm an American English teacher living in Japan. Let me tell you a bit about myself!
I was born and raised in the Midwest of the United States. It's very flat and very boring, but I love it there. I now live in Shikoku in Japan. It's a great place with so many nature related activities! That's one thing about me, I love nature! I also love food. There are so many delicious things to eat in Japan.
What's your favorite animal? Color? Number? Well, I like penguins, the color black, and my favorite number is three! My hobbies are playing sports, cooking and eating, and sleeping. I don't think sleeping can be considered a hobby but I really like it!
As I mentioned before, I live in Japan! I teach as an ALT here, and have experience working with children aged 5-15 as well as teaching adults in a volunteer English conversation club. I've done both group lessons and individual tutoring. My previous teaching experience includes working as an afterschool tutor at an elementary school in America, as well as various summer school programs.
My teaching style is very adaptable. I prefer to create a friendly atmosphere rather than a strict one. However, I can adjust my teaching to any student!
Also, I'd like to mention that I will often be adding in hours on days which don't have regularly scheduled hours. Please look for hours on other days of the week.
