Hello everyone! I am Teacher Dom, your new English tutor!  My students tell me I have the clearest British accent they have ever heard so choose a trial lesson and find out yourself! I have more than 12 years experience teaching English and hold a T.E.F.L. diploma.

My hobbies are cooking, working out, reading, snowboarding and exploring the world.


 

 

A little bit about me...

 

I am a professional ESL English teacher from South Wales in the UK and I now live in a seaside town called Javea near Alicante on the east coast of Spain.

I hold a certificate in teaching English language (TEFL), as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A. Hons.) in French, Spanish and Economics, from the UK.

 

When I finished university I wanted to travel the world to see new places and learn about different cultures and food, so I studied to be an English teacher and immediately loved it. I went on to live and work in more than 15 countries.

 

 

For more than 11 years, I have taught all of the world for the British Council and private/public schools to students from Japan, Korea, Thailand, China, and Hong Kong as well as Europe so I know very well the types of difficulties often faced by students in Japan and Asia.

 

 

I also worked for 10 years as a project management consultant for IT firms, the software industry and mobile telecoms, as well as setting up my own software development company in Malaysia, so I am very knowledgeable on management and I.T.

I have an intense passion for learning new languages. I speak 4 languages fluently and I would love to share with you the techniques I have learnt to help you learn English faster and more effectively.

 

What are my lessons like?
Interesting and, most of all, fun. You'll enjoy it so much time will fly!  I am extremely patient and respectful with my students.

My lessons are full of language games, new vocabulary, grammar tricks, interesting articles, as well as songs and videos. All tailored to your interests and language needs, and designed to help you learn English faster.

 

From my years many years of teaching experience, I know that students learn faster when they are interested and enjoy our lessons. Therefore, I always counsel my students before starting lessons to make sure that we choose subjects that will interest you and we focus on what you need to improve.

 

My teaching experience

I have taught and created courses for all levels (A1 to C2) and every age from 5 to 75 years old.

I was previously an examiner for Cambridge exams and I have also created and  taught IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation courses. Therefore, I have lots of super tips and tricks for passing your entrance exam.

 

I normally focus on improving your speaking ability, but we can also work on grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading and writing or whatever you need the most. My teaching style is flexible and I always adapt my teaching methods and materials to suit each student or class.

If my lessons are fun then we will both enjoy the time together and you will improve faster than you could with any other teacher!

I'm looking forward to sharing my extensive experience full of tips and tricks on how to master English.

 

Most of my lessons are very reasonably priced and I have a very fast and reliable internet connection for clear voice and Skype/Zoom video calls. I can also type whatever we talk about in our lessons so you have a permanent record that you can refer to later.
