Mayumi Evangelista 讲师的个人介绍
Hi!
My name is Mayumi. I was born in the Philippines, but moved to Canada when I was one year old. English is my first language!
I graduated from University with a BA in Applied Linguistics, at the same time, worked towards my TESL (Teaching English as a Subsequent Language) Certification. I have now been teaching English for almost 12 years.
In those 12 years, I taught students between the ages of 4 to 55 (and a few even older!), though the majority of my students are in thier 20s, 30s and 40s.
I am very passionate about my work. I love teaching and seeing the success of my students. I believe, the more enjoyable the lessons are for the students, the easier it is to learn, and the quicker they will improve.
In all my lessons, I enourage a lot of speaking from the students! I love hearing about personal experiences, opinions, and sharing ideas and information! This is exacltly what my 15-25 minutes would look like!
For longer lessons of 55 minutes, I incorporare more reading, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciating and error correction, along with speaking of course! If you also want homework/at home practice, I would gladly assign light work to keep your mind active in English!
