Hi there, I'm Robin, I'm 29 years old and I'm currently living in sunny Portugal. I have been an educator for more than 9 years now. I was originally a professional sailing instructor and over time I transitioned into teaching English offline at first and then moved to teaching online as I really enjoy travelling which fits my lifestyle perfectly.
I am an animal lover as I have 4 cats, 4 horses, and 3 chickens, but also recently started enjoying growing different types of plants from fruit trees to house plants, and finally, I am passionate about travelling to tropical countries and experiencing unique cultures, food, and activities.
I have taught English in a high school, primary school, and an academy in Vietnam, as well as an academy in Thailand. I have also taught online for 3 years whilst being in multiple countries and delivering quality education no matter where I am.
My main two main focuses when it comes to teaching is firstly teaching IELTS speaking which includes parts 1, 2, and 3. Secondly, I do general conversation training and practice to help my students gain confidence or maintain their current level of English.
My teaching style is very flexible and is dependent on the end result the student desires, however, I am naturally an easygoing guy that has an open mindset to teaching methods. I focus most of my methods on providing clear and precise explanations and demonstrations for my students to always have clear reference points for whatever aspect of the language we are currently practicing.
I understand we are all human and make mistakes, and when learning a language, we all make mistakes, and I always strive to create an environment for my students to be able to be 100% comfortable making mistakes in our lessons as I feel making mistakes is such a crucial part to learning a language.
