Hello there!


I am Sher from the island of Jamaica, and I am an internationally experienced educator with a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics. I have over 7 years of experience teaching math to English speaking high school students in Jamaica and North America. I love helping students achieve their potential.

English Lessons with Me

Here on Cafetalk, I offer several types of English lessons tailored to help you improve your English, speaking, writing, and listening abilities. Whether you are a young teen or an adult, you are welcome to have a lesson with me.

My goal is to create a positive and engaging environment that will motivate you to learn and excel as you ask questions and participate in class. I offer a few different lessons- proofreading, relaxed conversations about different topics, speaking in the past tense, grammar and more.

I have a wealth of experience teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I understand the challenges you face when trying to learn something new, especially a new language. I offer personalized lessons that focus on you building your English language skills and confidence. If you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced English speaker, I have a lesson that will suit you.


Whether you are looking to improve your English skills for work, school, professional or personal reasons, I am here to help. I am committed to helping you achieve your English-speaking goal, and I am confident that together, we can achieve great progress.

Which lesson do I recommend you start with?

I suggest that you begin with an Introduction- getting to know you lesson. Here you will share your English language goals. Then, we can select from the other available lessons, the ones that will best suit you.

Math Lessons with Me

Along with English language lessons, I also offer math lessons. These math lessons will specifically center around Algebra 1(following U.S.A. common core curriculum). For these lessons, you will receive homework/assignment assistance, test prep or 1-1 tutoring for specific Algebra 1 concepts. Feel free to look at the Algebra lessons that I have available.

For math lessons, you will need to have your writing materials such 
as a notebook and pencils, ipad or tablet.
