I'm Navid. I'm a British-Iranian and have spent most of my life between the two countries. When I'm in the UK I live in Leicester; and when I'm in Iran, I live in Ekbatan. I love both places, I think both are futuristic places, but in different ways. Wherever I am, my cat is with me, we are inseparable friends.
My interests are very diverse. I love learning new things. I enjoy reading, writing, photography, linguistics, films, academic research, listening to and playing music, and having conversations. I like to learn about different cultures; so I read books, watch films, and listen to music from every corner of the world. These are only some of my interests; really, I could be fascinated by anything. I may spend days reading about carpentry, plants, or a 70s fashion style. In fact, I don't remember the last time I got bored.
I hold a BA in English from Nottingham Trent University, and am currently completing a MA in teaching English in ATU Tehran. The focus of my studies is English for academic purposes.
I like to offer lessons that introduce creative and interesting ways of learning language. In my experience, language learning is deeper and more effective when one uses the language for real purposes. So my goal is to give the students the knowledge and confidence to start using language in real situations.
