Hi I'm Aston! Business English Expert | TEFL certified | 9 years teaching experience | Certified Cambridge English speaking examiner | Conversationalist. My lessons are suitable for teens or adults with an intermediate to advanced English level. 

I'm originally from South Africa, now living in the vibrant city of Madrid!  I am in my 8th year of teaching English in Spain and previously, I taught English in China for 1 .5 years. I have degree in finance and in South Africa I served as a professional accountant and junior manager, so I enjoy talking about business. I enjoy salsa dancing, connecting with people, attending concerts, hiking, reading and seeing new places.

What can you expect from my lessons?

  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude!
  • A lively, student-centered classroom where learning is both effective and enjoyable
  • In my lifestyle/short chat classes, I'm open to talk about a variety of topics my interests are travel and cuisine, I'm fascinated by new cultural experiences, life abroad, fashion trends, ancient history, as well current affairs.
  • Conversational classes: My objective is for you to gain the confidence and skills to speak naturally and fluently in real-life situations. We focus on practical communication—listening actively, expressing ideas clearly, and responding appropriately in everyday conversations by use of discussions, games, challenges and role plays.
  • Business English classes: My objective is to improve your comunicative competence, so not only mastering the language but also the culture that goes with it! We will look at business expressions/idioms in different settings for example, meetings, conferences, interviews, negotiation, presentations ect, as well as the cultural know - how. 

My love for teaching stems from my passion for empowering others and I enjoy playing a part in someone's learning journey . I believe to learn is to explore and embark on an adventure.
