Hello, my name is Paul. I am a New Zealand English teacher with over 25 years of full-time teaching experience.

I hold a Cambridge CELTA qualification and have taught students of all ages and levels, from young learners to adults, and from beginner to advanced. I have worked in both New Zealand and Japan, and I understand the challenges language learners face because I have supported thousands of students through exams, conversation practice, and confidence building.

My teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and student-focused. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and supported. I create lessons that are structured but flexible, always adapting to your goals and learning style. Whether you want to improve conversation, pronunciation, grammar, IELTS preparation, or academic writing, I will design lessons that help you progress step by step.

I have many years of experience preparing students for Cambridge exams and IELTS, and I also specialise in helping learners develop natural speaking skills and clear pronunciation. I enjoy meaningful discussion, current topics, and helping students express their ideas confidently in English.
