My name is Melissa and I am from England! I am new to Cafetalk.
I am half English and half Filipina. English is my native language. My hobbies are travelling with my husband, photography and learning languages. I was living in the Philippines during 2018-2019 and I am currently in the UK. You can check out my English videos on UTube: English with Melissa
I have been an online ESL tutor for almost two years and I tutor children and adults from all over the world on Skype. I have experience teaching students from Asian countries such as Philippines, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. I obtained two TEFL certificates in 2019.
I can help you with Standard British pronunciation and general conversation.
-I use a combination of my own matieral and other resources for British pronunciation.
-To practise conversation, we can read an article together and then have a discussion afterwards. We can talk about topics that interest you and I can also help you with idioms and phrasal verbs.
I recommend having a trial lesson with me first, to get to know each other first!
I consider myself a patient and encouraging tutor, and I like to type out corrections while the student is talking, so that they can refer back to them after the class. For serious mistakes, I also like to correct my student verbally. Please do not worry about making mistakes, as this is how everybody learns too!
I speak fluent Spanish. I lived in Spain for two years, exploring the beautiful South, The Canary Islands and Barcelona. My husband is also from Spain!
I love languages, I am slowly learning Korean and I also speak basic Tagalog, I lived in the Philippines for one year.
