Hello everyone, my name is GAKOU (雅光).
In my lessons, you can learn Kanji, Japanese calligraphy, writing, and general Japanese.
I am also available for consultation on any educational concerns you may have overseas.
I know how hard it is to balance the demands of a local school and a supplementary school from my own experience of raising children and teaching the Japanese language for many years.
I have also been researching Kanji education for a long time, especially since it is difficult for young children and students studying abroad to retain Kanji characters.
At last, I was able to create the world’s quickest, easiest, and most enjoyable way to learn more than 1,026 kanji characters.
This is a completely different approach from conventional kanji education materials.
Many people who struggle with kanji have been so pleased with the results that I was even able to publish a textbook this spring.
This method is not only effective for elementary and junior high school students who are struggling with Kanji in Japan, but also for non-native speakers who are struggling with Kanji while learning Japanese, so please join me in one of my lessons and experience it firsthand.
Even preschoolers are welcome to join me as long as they can read hiragana and katakana! You will definitely develop a love of reading.
I have lived in Japan, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and many other places.
I currently live in Boston.
In Japan, I was involved in judging and correcting the works of the then 800,000 members of the Japan Carrigraphy Education Foundation’s certification division, as well as instructing branch managers nationwide. Overseas, I have been teaching Japanese calligraphy for over 25 years, managing a Japanese calligraphy school and cram school for over 15 years at the NY/NJ and Honolulu supplementary schools, and teaching Japanese classes to adults in a school in Hawaii for over 7 years.
I simply love to teach!
My Japanese calligraphy lessons are open to all levels of students, from young children to adults.
You can learn from the very basics to how to teach, and we can using pencils, pens, brush pens, water pens depending on your preference.
I will provide you with a method and program that is suited to your individual needs and provide you with pleasant lessons, instead of a one-way process.
