I started working at EF/Englishtown in 2012, after a year if teaching English to students mainly from China and South America, I was promoted to a team leader. I was an online English instructor where I taught a range of levels and ages, a range of different topics. Some examples are Business English, test preparation for exams like Ielts and Toefl, general conversational English in group and individual classes. I also did a lot of proofreading work and corrected many documents for students, including presentations, official letters emails etc. As a team leader, it was my duty to observe my team of teachers, their methods of teaching and to give them some advice on how to improve their teaching skills to improve their scores and service delivery. After spending 2 years at the previous company, I started at Berlitz in 2013, I taught English to business people from companies like WHO Business English as well as conversational English. After a year, I was offered a promotion which I accepted. I was a Lead Instructor and was in charge of recruiting other teachers, interviewing them and following a 9 day, intensive training program, teaching them the Berlitz PPP method of teaching. I was a teacher recruiter and trainer until I left Berlitz in 2015 and started working for my current company, Learnlight. While I was working for Berlitz as an English teacher, I was teaching Chinese children in the afternoons, I taught a range of age groups from 4-10 years old. I had to leave this job when I started the teacher trainer position as it was a full time position. My teaching style is very flexible and student-focused. I take the time to get to know my students as individuals, which allows me to tailor my instruction according to their unique learning goals. I design adaptable lesson plans, exciting hands-on activities, and engaging thematic units to spark students’ interest, attention, and imagination.
