Do you need help with your English? Hello! I'm Larry, an English teacher, and I can help you! I have helped corporate employees speak English more proficiently. These are people who wanted to get ahead in their careers or who needed to speak English well to do their jobs effectively. 


I have a bachelor's degree in English and Political Science and I am also TESOL certified. These back me up in sharing my knowledge of the language.


Just a footnote: I have also taught in summer camps teaching English to junior and senior University students from Korea.


WHAT I CAN OFFER:
Would you like to speak English and be understood? 

It feels so exasperating when you try to speak English and your listener doesn't seem to get what you are saying?

I can help you get a clearer, easy to understand accent - one that sounds more neutral. I have helped students who used to have unintelligibly thick accents to speak clearly.

 

Isn't it just frustrating when, no matter how you try, you can't seem to express your ideas completely or correctly in English?

 Well, stop fretting over it. I have classes that could hone your speaking abilities. I could show you easy ways of constructing sentences. I could teach you common words that are used in practical English. 



MY TEACHING STYLE:

My classes are interactive. I engage the students in conversations and discussions. I try to relate the lessons to their personal experiences. And, of course, I acknowledge them for their participation in the class and validate their answers. Nothing encourages a person more than an earnest response to what he's said.  

I'm a chatty person.  I enjoy talking to people from different countries and learning about their country and culture. 

 
MY INTERESTS:

I'm not really a professional runner but I like to run. I have joined a few races. I used to work out a lot in the gym too. Nothing really serious, I just wanted to look fit.  

Sometimes, I go on hiking trips with some friends. We're always on the lookout for a waterfall that's easy to reach. There's nothing like being one with nature. It is tiring yet so rewarding and so worth all the effort and time we spend when we finally reach our destination.
I travel within our country. Oftentimes, by myself. I like to see quaint places and experience local food, fiestas, or people.
I'm a movie buff - and I go crazy over sci-fi movies.  

Lest I forget, I'm crazy about my pooches too.
