I offer you total flexibility with how you want to learn English.

Maybe you want to have a chance to speak in English every day, just for a short while, but have no opportunity to attend a language school or meet English speaking friends.

Maybe you would prefer to study more deeply because of your work or studies, and are interested in detailed grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation explanations.

I will help you with difficult sounds, talk at a faster pace, encourage self-correction and give you lots of new vocabulary and phrases! You will soon gain confidence in English!

Ultimately you know how you learn best and what you are interested in  Your achievements are my happiness!

 

About me :-)

My name is Alex and I'm a native British English speaker. I was brought up in London and Kent, completed my BA Hons degree in International Business Studies in Yorkshire and have since spent a mix of time living in the U.K. and overseas. I now live in Germany with my husband and 10 year old son.

I am lucky enough to be able to say that I’ve lived in Japan 3 times so far! I’ve lived in Osaka, Kumamoto, Yokohama and Tokyo.  Unbelievably I will soon be tutoring the child of one of my first students in Japan! Time flies! 

I am TEFL/TESOL certified and also speak conversational Japanese (JPLT N3). I am currently studying for JLPT N2 - studying Japanese has made me appreciate how hard my students must study to learn English!  Over the years I have taught English to children of all different nationalities at kindergarten, elementary & junior high school level, and conversational & business English to adults of all abilities. However, if I had to choose a favourite lesson it would be teaching English using arts and crafts! So much fun!

I also have experience in the corporate workplace, having been employed for over 10 years as a Board Level Executive Assistant at a number of global media and financial organisations. Amongst other responsibilities my role included report/presentation preparation and document proofreading. I have also freelanced as a proofreader for a Japanese translation company.
