Music theory lessons by a music college graduate

Hello, my name is Ishimi and I am a music theory tutor.

Music theory is a major pillar of composition and performance. Music theory is often thought of as “something to think about in your head”, but in fact, it is a study to improve your sensitivity to feel music more deeply and in detail.

Music theory is the basis for composing music, and is also very useful in creating the expression of a performance.
The more you know about it, the more it will change the way you hear music and the way you see scores.

o  Self introduction
I have been playing the piano since elementary school. When I was in high school, I played the bass guitar in a band. I was in the physics department in college, but I belonged to the orchestra club and was passionate about the cello, often playing it until morning. It was there that I encountered music theory and became even more passionate about it. At first, I studied on my own by attending open lectures at various music colleges, but I couldn't stop myself from wanting to study at a music college, so I transferred to a music college in Tokyo and studied there.

During college, I was involved in arranging and playing accompaniment for singing class recitals, performing as a support member for events, as well as working for a music teaching material production company, creating sound sources and teaching materials. As for teaching, I have experience as a home tutor (piano and music theory) of students preparing to apply for music college.

I started giving lessons with the hope that I could use the knowledge and skills I have acquired to help others. I hope that through my lessons, I can help you lead a better musical life!

Music theory, which has been handed down for more than a thousand years, reflects the culture and aesthetics of various eras, is connected to mathematics and philosophy, and it is even connected to the universe. I would like to study it for the rest of my life. So let's have fun studying together!
