Hello, I’m Sarah (세라), a Korean language tutor.
I have 15 years of experience working at major corporations and startups in South Korea.
After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from a South Korean university, I worked as a corporate employee for over a decade.
I spent 13 years at a major Korean IT company before switching to a startup for new challenges, where I worked for 2 years.
Now, after ending my long corporate career, I’m preparing for a fresh start as a Korean language tutor.
I have a certification to teach the Korean language.
After around two years of preparation, I obtained my Korean language teaching qualification in 2024.
To become a good Korean teacher, I continue studying while discovering new aspects of the Korean language in daily life.
I’ve studied various languages in many different ways for a long time.
I’ve had direct experience learning through various methods like TOEIC exams, working holidays, study abroad preparation, language lessons on the phone, online language courses, self-study, and shadowing.
What helped me the most among these was actually conversing with native speakers of the language I was learning at the time.
Even when I wasn’t fluent, it was amazing and fun how native teachers could understand what I wanted to say.
This is how I realized that learning a language starts with confidence.
I understand how much courage and effort it takes to learn another language.
That’s why my lessons are always relaxed and stress-free, flowing naturally like a conversation with a friend.
It’s okay to make mistakes! Every mistake is the start of a new learning oppurtunity.
As we go sentence by sentence, you’ll naturally gain confidence. :)
With extensive business experience, I believe that I can be helpful for those who want to learn practical skills, including natural workplace expressions and writing business emails.
I also love traveling and enjoy watching movies and webtoons (web comics), so I think I could have more engaging conversations during lessons with learners who share similar interests :)
In addition, I also do counseling (I hold a counseling qualification).
As you freely discuss concerns about your career paths or cultural questions in Korean, you’ll likely find it enjoyable and gain confidence in your Korean skills.
I’ll do my best to make sure all of my students can enjoy learning Korean and continue studying consistently.
Let’s have fun studying together!
See you soon in class :)
