Why not learn more English as the world comes to a halt!

2020年3月20日

Hello Cafetalk Community!

How are you? Over here in the US (where I used to live until 3 years ago) and Canada (where I live now), the air is filled with anxiety, fear, and trepidation over the coronavirus. It's finally reared its ugly face right on our soil.
Before it seemed to affect only those in Southeast Asia, but now we are confronted with everything shutting down as well (ie: school, restaurants, night clubs, sports events, music concerts, dental appointments, etc.) Everything is getting pretty chaotic over here. Primarily, there's a general shortage of medical equipment and PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for the front line emergency crews (ie: nurses, doctors, medics.)
-----------------------------------------------
I'm not that Machiavellian to try to profit off of other people's suffering. However, with all good intention, why not spend this time learning English. Or if your child is bored at home, why not schedule some English lessons so they will be spending their time productively? We are always here to help you meet your language-learning needs!
I know this pandemic is unprecedented and no one really knows what lies ahead. At the same time, I am suggesting how to make use of this time (out of school and/or work) and make it into some quality time learning English! Just a suggestion to relieve the children from boredom!

Most importantly, I wish everyone continued good health. In times like this, I believe it is better to work together -- especially when we are forced to isolate and practice "social distancing." (The normal distance that the government suggests for "social distancing" is approximately 6 feet.)
I hope you all stay safe! Let's get through this crisis together. We must continue to live our lives in spite of some restrictions. We may have to change the way we live our lives on many levels, however, the most important thing is to continue to live and learn!
Hope to see you soon!
Warmest regards,
Lady Ayame
