Hello everyone! How are you today? It’s Teacher Asuka.
Today, I am going to talk about ‘the time.’
What would you do if you have a bank account such as ‘someone will transfer you 86,400 dollars every morning, and your balance will be zero if you don’t use rest of them at the end of the day’?
In such cases, some people will withdrawal as much as possible and use all of them, others may save such dollars in their own houses.
You can think of above 86,400 dollars as ‘the time’ a day.
As you already know, 24 hours, 86,400 seconds a day are given to all of us equally.
When it comes to ‘time’, we cannot save it in our own saving box or in our house. Therefore, we must use it in effective way.
‘Importance of the time’ reminds me of the clock named “Corpus Clock". This is one of the famous sculptured clocks which is set in the town's corner at the Cambridge University and known as announced officially by a famous physicist Professor Stephen William Hawking in 2008 and completed it after 5 years.
“Corpus Clock"
You can see a grasshopper escapement above the clock, which indicates ‘eating the time’. The grasshopper opens its mouth in every 5 minutes and tells us about the time with the combination between blue light and stroboscope. The clock let us think how important the time is.
Not only time but also money and life have to deal with care, because they are getting to decrease as we get older and older.
I'd like to show you a famous saying here as follows: ' Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why we call it a present.’
We are given ‘a present’ day by day.
I think we need to recognize that point in daily life.
Thank you for joining me as usual.
See you next time.
