Autumn idioms

Elena

If you want to sound more like a native speaker, you need to start using more idioms. Here are some that use autumn related words but have nothing really to do with autumm:

  • An old chestnut: a story or joke that has been repeated too often but it is not funny anymore.
  • To drive someone nuts: to annoy or irritate someone very much. Also drive them crazy.
  • To turn over a new leaf: to change one's behaviour or attitude for the better.
  • To take a leaf out of somebody else’s book: to imitate or follow someone's example (in a good way!)
Send me your examples using any of these idioms!!
