Scotland's traditional food - haggis

Hannah N

January 25th is a special day in Scotland, it's called Robert Burns Day. Robert Burns is the name of Scotland's national poet, who lived in the 18th century. The 25th of January was his birthday, so we celebrate!
People celebrate by eating haggis, which is Scotland's most famous traditional food. Haggis is made of sheeps' intestines so maybe it sounds a little bit disgusting, but it tastes yummy! People eat it with potatoes and turnips on the side. If you get a chance to try eating haggis, let me know if you like it!

If you are interested in finding out more about Scotland and its history, you are welcome to try my new 'Learning English through Royal History' lesson. We can discuss the time period when Robert Burns lived, historical locations and much more.
