Can you complete 60 American Idioms?

Lady Ayame

Dear Cafetalk Community,

How are you? I hope you are all doing well! I'm doing just fine myself. I wanted to keep in touch with you, so I want to share an interesting Quiz I found online. How many "American Idioms" do you know?

Can you complete the 60 following "American Idioms?" It seems as though even native English speakers (or Americans) have difficulty completing the Quiz correctly. I thought it would be good practice for you!

If you're so inclined, please click on the weblink below to try the "American Idioms" Quiz. Try it to see how many you can get right. Have fun!

Dear M.S. -- I'm glad you enjoyed the Quiz! You scored exceptionally well! Congratulations! I'm so happy you know so many Idioms. PS: You are right regarding "spots."

Thank you so much for this useful website!! I scored 56 out of 60 and I'm tickled pink learning new idioms! I found out a typo in one quiz. n“A leopard ______ changes its sports!” It should be "spots " not "sports", right? I suppose there are two correct answers for the two quizzes I could be wrong, though.nnn
