Life & Language Coaching: with Teacher Jacqueline

My name is Jacqueline. I’m an ‘Online English Tutor’ - and I have over 5-years experience of ‘Teaching English Online’ (from the UK).

Do you want to speak ‘English’ with more confidence - using a better ‘natural’ speaking voice?

If the answer is ‘Yes’!

Let me help you suppress your fear of speaking ‘English’ out loud and with new people!

It has to be said, that: ‘practice makes perfect’ - and: when you are able to listen to ‘English’ speakers, as well as speak ‘English’ often (preferably at least 15-minutes everyday) you will begin to recognise levels of self improved confidence.

Speaking ‘English’ everyday, really is the best way to help retain those ‘English’ speaking skills!

There are many students who are able to ‘read and write in English’ very well - yet: when it comes to speaking ‘English’ out loud, they become very ‘shy’ with their ‘English: speaking’ (and pronunciation) skills.

Does this sound like you?

If you do not live within an ‘English: speaking’ country (or household) then the best way to practice your ‘English: speaking’ skills is to attend a class.

The most wonderful thing about the internet is that you will be able to connect with an ‘Online English Tutor’ on a day, and at a time, to suit you.

  • First - decide how many classes you would like to book each week.

Many students often begin with two 30-minute classes each week (or four 15-minute classes each week).

If you would like to dedicate more time to practising your ‘English’ speaking skills - then: you could book two 1-hour weekly classes instead.

  • Secondly - choose regular class times on the days that are best for you.

  • Thirdly - find an ‘Online English Tutor’ who is able to connect with you on the days and at the times you prefer.

Why not read several ‘Tutor Profiles’ (remember to check their ‘Tutor schedule’, too)!

It’s also important to practice your ‘English: speaking’ skills in between classes too.

Here are some ways to help you to keep practising ‘conversational English’ (inbetween classes):

1. Speak ‘English’for at least 15-minutes everyday.

2. Speak ‘English’ with another person (or in class).

3. Listen to how others speak ‘English’ - on the ‘radio’, on ‘television’ or in ‘movies’.

(a) Try to practice by ‘listening’ and then ‘repeating’ (‘saying out loud’) the ‘conversational English’ you hear - this can also often help with general ‘pronunciation’ skills.

4. Read an ‘English’ article out loud (remember to ‘speak: slowly and clearly’)

(b) Record your own voice (reading the ‘article’) and then ‘listen’ to your ‘recorded voice’. Keep practising - ready for your next class!

5. Write down any new ‘English: words and phrases’ you see or hear.

Why not try to implement these ‘study skills’ into your ‘learning plan’ - today!

See you next class!
