My Unexpected Pre-Class Ritual: How Singing Before Class Changes My Mood and Mindset

Rhei

Sometimes, when I'm waiting for my students to join class, the minutes can feel a bit long. Over time, I found a simple way to make that time more enjoyable: I sing. It's nothing fancy—just a little tune I like or a song that's stuck in my head—but it changes everything.

Singing helps me shake off stress, lift my mood, and feel ready for the lesson. It's funny how a few lines of a song can make me feel energized and focused. By the time class starts, I'm already warmed up and more confident, even if my singing isn't perfect.

This small habit has become a little ritual I genuinely enjoy. It reminds me that small joys can make a big difference, even in everyday moments. Next time you're waiting or feeling a bit restless, maybe try humming a tune or singing a favorite song—it really works!
