Holiday Greetings

Hi everyone! Camilla here!

It's December, which means you might be sending holiday messages to  friends, colleagues, or clients around the world.

You might be familiar with the expression “Merry Christmas”. It’s a very common greeting used this time of year, but let’s learn some other expressions.

Here are three quick phrases you can use for this holiday season:

Phrase 1: The Safe and Professional Choice.

"Happy Holidays!"

This one is perfect for business emails or if you don't know the person's religion.
It's polite, it’s inclusive, and it works for emails, letters, or even just saying goodbye to a coworker until the New Year.

Phrase 2: The Warm and Friendly Option.

"Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!"

You can use this phrase if you are writing a card for a friend, or sending an email.
This phrase shows that you took a little extra time and effort. It sounds very genuine and warm. We also use this a lot when someone is traveling!

Phrase 3: The Common and Casual Farewell.

"Have a great winter break!"

You can say this phrases when you finish a conversation with a friend who is going on vacation, and in places that experience winter.
This is a very common, casual phrase. You can also follow up with: "See you in the New Year!"
