Master it Step by Step

Rose Motete

Many students feel anxious when they don’t understand everything immediately. In my experience as a tutor, this pressure often slows progress instead of helping it. Learning is not about instant perfection — it is about steady development.

True mastery happens in layers. First, you understand the basic idea. Then you practice it. After that, you refine it. Expecting full understanding at once creates frustration, but allowing yourself to move step by step builds confidence and long-term retention.

In our lessons, I always encourage students to:

  • Focus on one clear objective at a time

  • Ask questions freely

  • Practice before moving forward

  • Celebrate small improvements

Progress is not measured by speed, but by understanding. Take one step, master it, then take the next.
