Today, I want to share 5 'crafty' idioms that will help you add some color and detail to your English!"

1. To Lose the Thread

Meaning: To stop following the logic of a story or to forget what you were saying.
Example:I’m sorry, I got distracted and lost the thread of what we were talking about.

2. A Common Thread
Meaning: A theme or characteristic that links different things together.
Example:Even though we live in different countries, our love for handmade gifts is a common thread between us.

3. To Weave a Story
Meaning: To tell a very detailed, often complicated story.
Example:He knows how to weave a story that keeps everyone listening for hours.

4. To Spin a Yarn
Meaning: Similar to weaving a story, but specifically used for long, imaginative, or exaggerated tales.
Example:My grandfather used to sit on the porch and spin a yarn about his days at sea.

5. On Pins and Needles

Meaning: To be very nervous or excited while waiting for something.
Example:I’ve been on pins and needles waiting to hear if my new project was accepted!
