Something you can try, to make the most of the poor weather, is matching your study subjects to the weather itself. Look out your window and tell yourself what you see and hear. How many words do you know to describe what's happening? Maybe you know grey and stormy, but you've never heard howling winds or torrential rain before. Maybe you want to look out for severe weather events, and learn the differences between hurricanes, cyclones, and tornadoes. Take it one step further, and write a paragraph describing the weather, or a short story set on a rainy day!
Personally, I think rainy days are the best days for creative writing. You can write about the weather, set the scene for yourself to write a sad or sombre story, or use it to inspire something warm and cosy, to appreciate the comfort of your home.
Of course, bad weather days are often low-energy days, too, for a lot of people. But the good news is, you don't have to dedicate all your brain power to studying, every time you do it. Maybe you just want to curl up in bed and read the news or a short story, maybe you want to run through a flash card app on your phone to see if you can remember the meanings of all the words you learned recently, or maybe you want to play a game that has you practicing your target language. All of these are still study!
The good news is, there are no right or wrong ways to study — just the ones that are the most effective for you. Don't let the bad weather get you down, just figure out how you can make it work for you!
