Something I learned During the Summer: The Secret to Perfect Sushi!

Samantha A . H

Hello everyone! I'm Samantha, a conversational English tutor here on Cafetalk.

Cafetalk's new weekly topic is " Something I learned during the summer." Living in the sunny Caribbean, it's summer all year round for me! But this past season, i decided to learn how to do something completely new: making my own sushi at home!

I have always had a massive obsession with eating sushi, but learning to make it taught me two very important things about mastering a new skill:

1. Patience is key
Getting the rice sticky enough and rolling it tightly without breaking the seaweed takes practice. Language learning is exactly the same- it takes small, patient steps every day!

2. Mistakes are Part of the Fun
My first few sushi rolls looked completely messy, but they still tasted amazing! When you practice speaking English, don't worry about making messy grammar mistakes. The most important thing is to enjoy the flavor of the conversation!

What Did You Learn This Summer?
I would absolutely love to hear your stories! Did you try a new hobby, travel somewhere beautiful, or learn a new life skill?

Let's chat about it in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. You can book my "Fun & Relaxing English Conversation chat!" or my " Natural English For Customer Service & Workplace Communication"session right below.

Let's practice together and turn your summer stories into great English conversations!

Warm regards,
Samantha
