この夏学んだこと。 What I Learned This Summer

この夏、私は「日本のファッションとコスメ」について、実際に街へ出かけて学んできました！

私の日本語レッスンでは、生徒さんから日本人デザイナーや日本のブランドについて、よく質問をいただきます。

そこで、NIGO®ゆかりのA BATHING APE®やHUMAN MADEをはじめ、sacai、JUNYA WATANABEなどの洋服やアクセサリーを見に、青山・原宿・渋谷の実店舗へ行ってきました。

写真やウェブサイトだけでは分からない素材感やサイズ感、お店の雰囲気などを実際に確かめ、スタッフの方にも商品の特徴や人気のアイテムについて、いろいろ伺いました。

そして、日本のコスメも海外で大人気です！

コスメデコルテ、クレ・ド・ポーボーテ、KANEBO、SHISEIDOなどのコスメカウンターにも足を運びました。実際にカウンターに座り、それぞれのブランドや商品の特徴について、スタッフの方から詳しく教えていただきましたよ！

今回あらためて感じたのは、インターネットで調べるだけではなく、実際に見て、聞いて、体験することの大切さです。新しく学んだことを、これからの日本語レッスンでも皆さんにお伝えしていきたいと思います。

I’m Kumikitty, a Japanese language teacher.

This summer, I went out into the city to learn firsthand about Japanese fashion and cosmetics!

In my Japanese lessons, students often ask me about Japanese designers and brands.

So, I visited stores in Aoyama, Harajuku, and Shibuya to see clothing and accessories from brands closely associated with NIGO®, including A BATHING APE® and HUMAN MADE, as well as sacai and JUNYA WATANABE.

By visiting the stores in person, I was able to experience the textures and sizing of the items and the atmosphere of each store—things that are difficult to understand from photos and websites alone. I also asked the staff about the products’ special features and popular items.

Japanese cosmetics are also extremely popular overseas!

I visited beauty counters for DECORTÉ, Clé de Peau Beauté, KANEBO, and SHISEIDO as well. I sat down at the counters, where the staff told me all about the different brands and their products.

This experience reminded me of the importance of not only researching things online but also seeing, asking questions, and experiencing them firsthand. I hope to share everything I learned with you in my future Japanese lessons.
