As winter begins to draw closer across Europe, we are experiencing that magical transition where the intense summer heat fades into a crisp, beautiful autumn. Out in the countryside, the weather is finally perfect for being outdoors. Lately, my favorite thing to do is walk with my dogs amongst the olive trees and head up into the hills. The air is fresh, the colors are changing, and it is easily the best time of year for hiking.

Of course, there is one small downside to the changing seasons—the swimming pool is officially too cold to jump into now! But as the pool season closes, walking and hiking take over, giving me plenty of time to enjoy the stunning Spanish landscapes and clear my mind.

Living here in Andalucia as a native English Man and being a tutor on Cafe Talk is an absolute joy, and I love finding ways to make my schedule fit perfectly into your daily routine. Recently, I’ve been analyzing the best working hours to support my students. I know that because I am based in the Madrid time zone, my standard daytime hours might not always align with your schedule.

If you have ever wanted to book a lesson with me but struggled to find a time that works, I have some great news: I love working nights!

Having flown for 30 years as a flight attendant, I am incredibly used to unconventional hours and actually thrive on night shifts. Because of this, I am opening up availability for night lessons between midnight and 4:00 a.m. Madrid time.

This specific window is ideal for the early-morning crowd. If you like to wake up early and get an energizing English conversation lesson in before you head off to work, these hours are custom-made for you. It’s a wonderful, high-energy way to start your day with premium practice.

That being said, my schedule is highly flexible. Whether you want an early morning boost, a midday chat, or an evening wrap-up, I am happy to do a lesson anytime. Literally, anytime!
