Today was my first lesson with a teenage, French English student of mine. The first time we met he was very shy, but could speak pretty good English. I planned a lesson for us to do together, but when I got to his house his mom told me she wouldnt mind and would actually prefer if I played video games with him for our first lesson! After he and I played for the entire lesson he was no longer as shy as before. We broke the ice. Now I can confirm that he speaks good grammar which I could not do before. I may have also taught him some useful vocabulary as well such as "clan" and "village."
It doesnt matter what it is, if you can some how connect your interests with what you want to learn you will enjoy it more and learn a lot faster.
I really enjoyed todays lesson, but i dont think I can get away with playing video games next time we meet.
Have a great evening and weekend everyone!
