Great business relationships often start with small talk.



If your small talk is smooth and natural, it becomes easy to connect with people and make valuable business relationships.

 

This lesson is for anyone who does business internationally, whether it’s going on business trips, attending international conferences, meeting foreign clients, or working with foreign coworkers.





 

LESSON GOALS:

  1. Learn 6 tips for making small talk smoothly and naturally
  2. Use essential phrases for making business connections



 

LESSON PREPARATION:

  • Before the lesson, I'll send a PDF containing useful phrases for making small talk and networking. There are also 2 exercises to do.
  • Please read the information on the PDF and do the exercises. Please also study the phrases; you will need them in the lesson!



 

DURING THE LESSON:

  • I’ll check your answers to the exercises.
  • We’ll do some small talk and networking role-plays. (I will provide the role-play situations, however if there is any particular situation that you would like to prepare for, please let me know; I can adapt the role-play to your needs.)

 

 

This lesson is suitable for intermediate students, however it can be adapter for higher- or lower-level English learners.
