Lesson begins with a greeting and then a description and a list of words and phrases that will be learned and used.

Any new words or phrases I will teach using index cards written and verbal with definition. If all words and phrases are familiar we will begin the roleplay. I will allow student to take the lead but ask that they use some of the words and phrases I have provided.
"Hello, what can I help you find today?"
"I am looking for carrots and other vegetables."
After collecting their wanted items, we will roleplay at the check out.
"Did you find everything that you need?"
"Yes, thank you."

After completion of the shopping trip we will review what parts of the roleplay were more difficult in order to get an idea of what part of communication needs more practice.
I will pay attention to not only memory of words but pronunciation and ease with them as well.
If a student has more difficulty with the roleplay we will move at a slower pace and practice more where it is needed. If a student is communicating with ease we will add foods and phrases to make it more challenging.
