Building Strong Readers One Sound at a Time.
課程介紹
When I teach kids the ABCs and phonics, my goal is to help them build a strong foundation in early reading, speaking, and pronunciation through fun, engaging activities. I focus on helping students recognize both uppercase and lowercase letters, understand the difference between letter names and letter sounds, and develop phonemic awareness by listening for beginning sounds, identifying simple rhymes, and hearing individual sounds in words.
I also introduce short vowel sounds, basic consonant sounds, and early blending skills so students can start reading simple CVC words like “cat” and “dog.” Along the way, I build vocabulary through familiar and kid-friendly themes such as animals, colours, and everyday objects. I also begin early writing skills by having students trace and form letters correctly.
To support this learning, I use a variety of effective teaching methods, including multisensory phonics, repetition through play, Total Physical Response (movement and gestures) and visual cues. My teaching style is patient, supportive and encouraging.
