I have been teaching all aspects of English as a foreign language online for the last 10 years. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from helping people improve their skills.

 

Bachelor's degree in Journalism and English

I have a TEFL certificate in teaching English as a foreign language online.  (copy of the certificate provided below)


AI Artificial intelligence

Over recent months as a business requirement, I have mastered the art of using virtual intelligence tools, such as chatGPT and MidJourney to great effect. All the images below were created using mid-journey. We have a new lesson including sharing how to create these images and use chat GPT to the best effect in English!

 

My style is very relaxed - let's make friends and have some fun.  I'm quite happy to just chat with you, guide and correct as you go speak.

 

There is an old saying in English - "You have two ears and one mouth; use them proportionally."  In other words, I will expect you to do the talking and I will correct and prompt as we go along.

 

Verbal education is about repetition, just once a week and you will forget anything you learnt in the previous lesson. Throughout the sessions, we will judge your standards and concentrate on the areas that need improvement. We will test your ability to express yourself properly and talk about your job, hobbies and desires in life. After that, we will build up your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, listening, and speaking skills – how to understand examples like:

·      to, too and two 

·      their and there

·      would and wood

· Peace and piece

·      of and off

·      loose and lose

·      especially and specially

Most lessons will start with a review of your requirements realness, with a brief warm-up to get our minds ready! We will choose a topic together, be it vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, or anything agreed upon.  If required you will receive materials to look at before the lesson so that you are familiar with what we will be studying on the day. Our aim is lots of practice and participation from you.


At the end of the lesson, we will be discussing mistakes and I will be offering some suggestions for further study and practice at home. After the lesson, I will send you all the materials used in our lesson along with my feedback.  

 

I hope this interaction is the kind of thing you need to improve or written and oral English. One final thought:  Elon Musk recently commented that if he invented education, he would model around computer games, because young and old when we start playing a computer game we like, it is very easy to play the game all day!

 

My hobbies include:

   Sailing: I presently sail a boat with my wife on the weekends.

   Both reading and collecting books.  I have a vast collection of books thanks to you leaving all over the world with plenty of time on my hands. 

   Travelling:  have both lived and travelled all over the world.  My present location is probably the longest I've spent in one place for many years!
