Hi, I'm Victor. Before you book a full lesson, let's just talk.

This is a free 15-minute meeting. No test, no homework, no pressure. You tell me what you want, and I tell you honestly how to get there.

What we do in 15 minutes

  • You tell me your goal — an exam, work, travel, or simply confidence
  • I ask a few gentle questions to understand your current level
  • I give you my honest opinion on what would actually help you most
  • I explain exactly how my lessons work, so there are no surprises

Who this is for

  • Anyone who feels nervous about booking a first lesson with a new tutor
  • Students who aren't sure which of my lessons is the right one
  • Professionals and companies who want to check the fit before committing 

About me

I grew up and was educated in the United States for over 13 years — middle school, high school, and an Associate degree. I have also lived in the UK, the Netherlands, and Brazil, and I spent an exchange semester at the University of Tsukuba, so I have a real feel for the specific hurdles Japanese speakers run into in English.

I hold a Cambridge CELTA, IDP IELTS teacher training, a Bachelor's in Literary Studies from Utrecht University, and specializations from Johns Hopkins, the University of Washington, and Yale.

You can speak as much or as little as you like in this meeting. "Hello" is enough to start.
