You will wonder-how can one learn English through navigation maps? Navigation maps are a wonderful interactive tool for improving language. Imagine improving your vocabulary, grammar and conversation skills as you embark on a virtual journey to local and global destinations!
While using navigation maps, we will practice terms relating to movement, position and direction. While we cruise along chatting all the while , the lesson can spontaneously turn into one relating to grammar, or vocabulary, revising the names for various landmarks. Every now and then, we will sharpen our listening skills by listening to an audio clip appropriate to a particular map or we might take a reading break over a virtual cup of coffee. This activity will work on all or any one of the specific skills so critical to learning a language, especially English. Of course, the student may suggest any specific direction the lesson should drive towards. There's a lot of flexibility coupled with the level of structure a student would like. Can be adjusted to suit any level of student. A suggestion-in the first lesson, we could talk about vocabulary, in the second, we could concentrate on grammar, and so on.
I'd like to spend the last 5-10 minutes of this lesson to do a recap of the vocabulary learnt/revised as well as the grammar points taken up.
