Intermediate-Advanced
Writing is a great way to connect with the language. You can develop your voice as an English speaker and express yourself by improving your writing skills.
When you write in English, you are able to use the reading, speaking and listening practice you have done to solidify your language level, and you can be creative!
These lessons focus on the student’s writing. In other words, I will be patient so you can develop your ability to use the language and use that knowledge anywhere.
When we discuss your writing, we can develop a deeper understanding of nuance in English, and how to write clearly and enjoy it.
These lessons will work better if you do some homework, but I am flexible with my students, I know life happens, but I know you want to improve!
Lesson Examples:
We will read examples and learn about the structure of a written piece, then you will write your own!
I will give a student a topic and we will write a ‘timed short writing’.
This can be in any style (news, journal, story, essay, blog-style, letter, email, or open/creative format).
Sometimes we will focus on just a few sentences, other time the student will write longer to practice fluency.
Depending on what the writing is, we can use internet tools to develop your writing ideas in creative ways such as making an audio recording of us reading the work with images to go with it.
