Easy English with Filipino food
課程介紹
Hungry for good food and good English practice? In this lesson, we explore Filipino dishes from The Adobo Road Cookbook by Marvin Gapultos. We look at the photos, read a short recipe together, and talk about the food in a relaxed, friendly way. No cooking is needed. Just bring your appetite and your curiosity!
In this lesson, we will:
- Warm up by talking about our favorite foods.
- Look at the pictures and describe the dishes (how they look, smell, and taste).
- Learn easy cooking words like chop, stir, fry, simmer, and mix.
- Read a short, simple recipe, like chicken adobo, step by step.
- Practice speaking: “What’s your favorite dish? How do you make it?”
You will learn:
- Food and cooking vocabulary you can use every day
- How to describe taste and texture (sweet, salty, sour, crispy, juicy)
- How to explain a simple recipe in English
- How to talk about your own food and culture with confidence
Good for: Kids (7 and up) and adults, beginner to intermediate. I’ll adjust the words and speed to your level.
Materials: Recipe pages from the book. I will share them during the lesson, so you don’t need to buy the book.
Notes: Mistakes are welcome here. We learn by playing with the language, so relax and enjoy it!
